So sad but they announced it on Live today and said that he will retire at the end of the Summer.   I'll miss him everyday with Kelly.  He is 79 years old and should enjoy time with his family and grandkids.

Mary,  I know you'll miss him too.

I wonder if they will get another co-host (thinking Mark) or what will they do?

I love Regis and this is sad news!  We're a Notre Dame family and he's their biggest fan on tv.

I'll be curious to see who they get to replace him.

Donna,I so love Regis too. So sad indeed about hearing the news of Regis retiring.I agree with you about that Regis should enjoy time with his family&grandkids.I sure will miss him everyday with Kelly.I justed watched my tape and it brought tears to my eyes.Aww i loved all Kelly said to Regis&about wishing she could change his mind.

I would love it if Mark would co-host but just don;t think he will.I think she was great with Anderson Cooper but i hear he has his own show coming up.All i know is no one can really  Ever take Regis's place. He is the best!

HOW ABOUT LIVE WITH THORSTEN AND KELLY..it would still give him time to persue acting projects in NYC and possible ABC would give him a SITCOM like they did for Kelly....

The show is done from New York.  We know how awesome he was on The View.   And I'm sure he's friends with Kelly & Mark.  Dreamin.....

That is a great idea to have TK do the show.  I liked and will miss Regis, but would be great to see TK on everyday.  I certainly would watch that.  He and Kelly are both former AMC people.  They would be a good combo.  TK has such a charismatic personality - he would be fabulous!  Although I still want to see him act in Dramas since he is so great at portraying characters.

Searching for a talk show host

to brighten up the day?

I’ll narrow down the frantic search

by suggesting Thorsten Kaye.

His eyes and face have carried me

through characters portrayed,

as he spoke the words that others wrote

in every part he played.

Then his own wit and wisdom

as his rhymes came into play.

No face, no eyes, just pen and ink,

that took my breath away.

Separate again, his voice alone

from cds, soft and low

can take you places in your mind

where only dreams can go.

And those he’s met in person

say he’s clever, quick, and bright.

His charm can make you feel as if

you’re the only one in sight.

Now imagine if you will,

that each and every trait

have combined in just one man

by some cosmic quirk of fate.

Wouldn’t you think the Powers that Be

who search from coast to coast

would see those obvious things we see

and grab him for their host?

Because, (and this is crucial),

when Regis retires his coffee cup,

with hosts whose backgrounds cling to “Soaps”,

That show will never be washed up.
