Thanks! Wow, he is definitely the best thing on it. Every time I watch Bonanza (or should I say - flip past it cause I HATE how TVLand has turned into the all-Bonanza/Gunsmoke-all-the-time channel) I remember a line about it from a movie (Tin Men) that still cracks me up 20 years later: Bonanza is about a 50-year-old man with 3 47-year old sons. (Those ages all seemed real old to me at the time!)

ITA, TVLand has changed it's orig. mission, along w/Soapnet & I wish they'd change it back!  But thought you all would get a kick out of seeing such a young DC!!  I watched all the I Love Lucy in the mornings & that's my fav.  That & Andy Griffith.. I never tire of those!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......DC on Bonanza. (dashing...simply dashing.  I had a thing for Michael Landon too.)

I'm a bit easier going with the show.  I liked it.  Probably 'cause I live pretty close to the Ponderosa where episodes were filmed. Mostly outdoor scenes. The cast (including DC) and crew went to Tahoe for several weeks each season to film exteriors for the show.  Otherwise, this production was very very mobile. The set was very cool to see and tiny tiny tiny.  TV makes things look so much bigger.  I've eaten many a Hoss burgers.

However, those days are gone now. . The property was sold off about two or three years ago to the People Soft Tycoon (don't know his name).  Thank goodness "The Lake Tahoe Folks" won't let him build a huge condo development.  They settled on a single family ranch.......a very very very large single family ranch. (rumor has it)

Oh well.....just a bit of boring trivia I suppose.  I'll always have a soft spot for the Ponderosa, DC and Michael Landon in my heart.  It truly is (was) a beautiful place in Lake Tahoe regardless of it's Hollywood-ness & commercialism.

Those were the good old days.  You won't see many of today's shows running 30, 40, or 50 years from now (except of course SoapNet will probably still be running Dallas and BH 90210 10 times a day).

I think today's episode was shot on location in Lake Tahoe.  David Canary was just a baby-faced kid!  I grew up with this!  (Now I've dated myself, as if you didn't know it).

I think you're right!!!!!   DC was the ranch foreman named
Candy Canaday and I know the exterior "ranch" scenes, or at least most of them, were done in Tahoe.

DC could be my father (now who's aging herself ), but regardless he was simply smashing during those days.   Heck......I think he smashing now.
